Talia Taylor
Clinical Psychologist I Director
About Me:
Hi, I’m Talia (formerly Talia Leamy), a Psychologist with extensive experience working in both private practice and school settings. I am passionate about supporting people of all ages to achieve the their goals as well as gain the life they desire.
I also have a particular interest in working with adolescents and their families, and my published research on key challenges affecting young people has further strengthened my understanding of this often-overlooked age group.
My Approach:
My work begins with developing a thorough understanding of each person’s life, challenges, and goals. From there, I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies to tailor treatment to suit each individual’s unique needs.
I am skilled in a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Metacognitive Therapy (MCT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Imagery Rescripting (ImRs), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), among others. This breadth of training enables me to work flexibly and collaboratively, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs to support the best possible outcomes.
Style & Values:
I am known for being down-to-earth, warm, direct, and approachable, with a good sense of humour. My therapy style is trauma-informed and relationship-focused, grounded in compassion and inclusivity. Having lived experience of ADHD, I also bring a personal appreciation for neurodivergence, which enriches the way I connect with and support my clients.
My Commitment:
I am deeply committed to creating a personalised and safe space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion, understanding, and practical strategies that empower you to manage challenges and move toward the life you want.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, and I am dedicated to working with you at your pace, honouring your strengths while helping you build new skills. Above all, I want you to feel that you don’t have to face things alone.
